I know most of us are already tired
of coming back from somewhere to
search for our television remote
controller. It is never an easy thing
especially when we have kids at
home who may use it as toy to play.
People that are mostly affected by
this are those ones that can't operate
their electronics without remote
controller because it might not have
buttons or probably the buttons may
be faulty. I will write below
comprehensively about all the steps
to be taken to execute this.
1. IR blaster: By now IR blaster is no
longer new to us as some latest
phones like LG G5, Samsung Galaxy
S6 and many others comes with that
feature. The same infrared tech that
your old TV remote uses to
communicate with your TV. If your
phone has an IR blaster, download a
TV-remote app like Anymote Smart
Remote. Not only can it control your
TV, but also any device that receives
an IR signal—set-top boxes, DVD and
Blu-ray players, stereo equipment
and even some air-conditioning
systems.
2. Manufacturer app
Today’s Smart TVs have
accompanying manufacturer apps.
Samsung Smart TVs, for example, are
compatible with the Samsung TV
Remote App. The app allows your
device and television to communicate
over your Wi-Fi network. Chances
are if you have a Smart TV, there’s
an app that’ll turn your device into a
remote.
3. Get the hardware
If your phone doesn’t have an IR
blaster, you’re not out of luck. If you
don’t need to go channel surfing,
with a device like the Belkin
Miracast™ Display Adapter, you can
use compatible apps on your mobile
device to cast videos, pictures and
other content on your TV.
The bottom line is, if you want to
know how to turn your smartphone
into a TV remote control—and
possibly even more—there’s an easy
way.
